There is such a lot of bad news in the media nowadays that I thought it would be nice to focus on something positive. With the advent of shows like "X Factor" and "Britains Got Talent" we see how people actually like to find out about normal everyday folk, such as recent contenstant Susan Boyle. I am not looking to find the next Susan Boyle but it did make me think about all the unsung heroes that most communities have and I felt it would be nice to mention them here. So if you know of someone from the Amman Valley areas of say, Ammanford, Glanamman, Brynamman, Pontardawe, Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot for instance that does a lot for everyone else - now that could just be a hard working Mum or Dad, let's not be sexist - or perhaps someone who does a lot of work helping their community either by donating something or donating a lot of their spare time, then I would like to hear about them, so please register here at the directory and contact me to let me know about them, if you can supply a small photo that would be great and I will feature a Local Hero here in this section of the community directory. |
